Cachorro Grande (Portuguese for “Big Dog”) is a Brazilian rock band from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. The band was created just for the lead singer’s need of writing songs to his platonic love, Carmen Luiza Djalbu Kerk. In 2003, the music video for Lunático was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2003 MTV Video Music Brasil. In 2007 they won the MTV Video Music Brasil for Best Live Performance.

CPM 22 is a Brazilian band from São Paulo formed in 1995. Band members are Fernando Estefano (known as Badauí, lead vocals), Ricardo Di Roberto (Japinha, drums and backing vocals), Eduardo Ippolito Torrado Gomes (Wally, rhythm guitar and backing vocals), Fernando Sanches Takara (Fernandinho, bass guitar) and Luciano Garcia (Luciano, lead guitar).

Gilberto Passos Gil Moreira (born June 26, 1942), better known as Gilberto Gil, is a Brazilian singer, guitarist, and songwriter, known for both his musical innovation and his political commitment. Since 2003, he has been serving as his country’s Minister of Culture in the administration of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
